Communication is an essential part of any effective quality program. Following are avenues of communication we use to promote an everyday culture of patient safety and quality.

Patient Safety Alerts – These news alerts are emailed out to our more than 15,000 team members to share information on recent near misses or mistakes along with action steps to prevent errors in the future.

Digital Quality Boards – These boards display quality data that includes actual outcomes, the hospital’s goals for the outcomes, and tips for how families and visitors can help ensure a healthcare environment of quality and safety.

  • Digital boards located in public areas at all of our hospital locations display medical outcome data directly to patients and guests.
  • Digital boards located in patient care units display information about the number of patients with blood infections, blood clots, urinary infections, ventilator associated infections (pneumonias), falls with injury and bed sores.

Quality & Safety Snippets – This innovative biweekly video news show highlights best practices that demonstrate how we are meeting our quality and safety goals.

  • The show has accumulated over 13,000 views and won the award for excellence in electronic media from APEX 2015 (Awards for Publication Excellence).
  • Airing on opposite weeks of the Snippet news show, the Minute for Medicine video series is shared with team members to reinforce key messages regarding quality and patient safety.
