Arnold Palmer Hospital makes life better for children with respiratory problems. Our Pediatric Pulmonology Specialty Practice offers consultation and comprehensive care for a variety of disorders associated with the lungs. These include everything from asthma and chronic cough to restrictive and interstitial lung disease. We also provide inpatient care to ventilator- and oxygen-dependent patients who require the latest medical procedures, including tracheostomies and noninvasive and mechanical ventilation.
Our interdisciplinary pulmonology staff plays an important role in ensuring the best possible care. This staff consists of physicians, nurses, nurse and respiratory care practitioners, social workers, dietitians, pharmacists, psychologists, interdisciplinary students and administrative support. Cystic Fibrosis Clinic
We are a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Accredited Care Center. This clinic has a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of Cystic Fibrosis. Patients are seen in the clinic on a periodic basis. During their visits they receive educational information and guidance from a nutritionist and social worker. The clinic also offers respiratory testing to assess current lung functions. The Cystic Fibrosis clinic partners with Gastroenterology to treat patients with pancreatic inefficiencies, and with Endocrinology for the treatment of Cystic Fibrosis related diabetes, as well as other Cystic Fibrosis/Gastroenterology related conditions.
