Cure rates improve when lung cancer is detected and treated in its earliest phase.

A recent study has shown that low-dose CT screenings may reduce the risk of death in heavy smokers, or those with a history of it, by as much as 20 percent.

MD Anderson Cancer Center Orlando is proud to be the first area hospital to offer low-cost CT Lung Cancer Screenings, which are proven to be more effective than X-rays in detecting lung cancer. Available the third Wednesday of every month, the scans may detect suspicious nodules that might not typically show up on a standard X-ray.

How it Works:

If you feel you qualify for the screening, contact us. We'll schedule two same-day appointments—a preliminary assessment and a follow-up appointment.

On the day of, you will be assessed by one of our Thoracic Oncologists who will determine if you are the right candidate for the screening.

Within two hours of the screening, a Thoracic Oncologist will review your results with you and make recommendations on next steps.

Who Qualifies?

Anyone who is over age 50 and has smoked a pack a day for 20 years or more qualifies for this special screening.
