Welcome to the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Orlando Health. Our Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship was established in 2008 with the mission to develop caring and proficient physicians who would be leaders and educators in the field of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

The program is under the Orlando Health Academic Department of Emergency Medicine and based at the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, a tertiary care children’s hospital in beautiful Central Florida. Our emergency department opened its doors in 2007 and is comprised of 29 beds and 4 trauma bays. It is the only level one trauma center for children in the Central Florida Region. Our annual patient volume is approximately 55,000 visits per year.

The core faculty for the fellowship program includes 11 dedicated Pediatric Emergency Medicine trained physicians, who are part of the Orlando Health Emergency Medicine Residency Faculty. We have a close working relationship with all the primary pediatric subspecialists, including pediatric critical care, surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, gastroenterology, hematology-oncology, pulmonology, cardiology, and anesthesiology.

We sponsor two Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship tracks, one for each type of resident applicant whether emergency medicine or pediatrics. The tracks are 2- and 3- years duration, respectively. Both tracks emphasize the role of clinician, educator, and researcher in the field of pediatric emergency medicine.

The pillars of our Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program are an exceptionally diverse patient population, a family atmosphere, and a dedicated, supportive faculty.
