Orlando Health Kicks Off Construction of New Cancer Center
New, Expanded Cancer Care Comes to Dr. Phillips Area
Orlando, Florida (October 23, 2017) – Construction is underway on Orlando Health UF Health Cancer Center – Dr. Phillips, a new, expanded cancer center serving patients in communities throughout southwest Orlando.
At 18,000 square feet, the new Cancer Center will occupy existing space previously held by Orlando Health Physician Associates. Renovation of the space will take place in phases, with the first phase expected complete in spring 2018.
According to Mark Roh, MD, president, Orlando Health UF Health Cancer Center, cancer patients will enjoy the convenience and greater access the new facility will offer. “The rigors of daily cancer treatments take a toll on patients and their families,” says Roh. “The new Cancer Center in Dr. Phillips is our commitment to bring advanced cancer care to the patients in their own communities, where they don’t have to drive long distances or deal with traffic and congestion to see their doctor or get the life-saving treatments they need.”
At completion, Orlando Health UF Health Cancer Center – Dr. Phillips will be a full-service facility. It will feature expanded chemotherapy and radiation treatment areas, medical oncology services, surgical oncology consultations, oncologic pharmacy services, laboratory facilities, and Integrative Medicine program. The facility address is 7472 Docs Grove Circle, Orlando, Florida 32819. It will be situated on the campus of Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital in the heart of Orlando’s tourism corridor.
A ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for late summer 2018.
