Orlando Health rebrands imaging centers

Transition includes new signage, renovated interiors and operational upgrades

Orlando, FL (September 6, 2016) – The name Orlando Health Imaging Centers is now official. Today the Altamonte Springs facility, formerly known as Boston Diagnostic Imaging, became the first of five facilities to welcome new temporary exterior signage bearing the Orlando Health moniker. Permanent signage is expected to be installed throughout September. Orlando Health and Medical Center Radiology Group (MCRG) formed a company to purchase the outpatient imaging centers in December 2014 and have devoted the past 18 months to integrating them into the Orlando Health network.

“Orlando Health is recognized for its extensive network of healthcare professionals and facilities that is convenient for patients,” said Greg Ohe, senior vice president of ambulatory for Orlando Health. “By rebranding these facilities as Orlando Health Imaging Centers, patients will know they are being cared for in a facility that is part of a network of well-connected care.”

Each Orlando Health Imaging Center offers a variety of services. The Altamonte Springs center offers 3T MRIs, open MRIs, PET/CT scans, CT scans, ultrasound, x-rays and mammograms. It is located on SR 436 across from the Altamonte Mall. Also in Seminole County, the Sanford center, which is located near the intersection of 1st Street and Myrtle Avenue, specializes in open MRIs.

The West Orange County facility, which is located across the street from Health Central Hospital on Blackwood Avenue, offers open MRIs, CT scans, and x-rays. A satellite office, located less than a mile away on Commerce Parkway in Ocoee, specializes in MRIs. The downtown Orlando facility is located just south of Orlando Health’s downtown campus and provides open MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, x-rays, and mammograms.

“Patients have indicated that they want the quality of care for which Orlando Health and MCRG are recognized, but they want it closer to home,” added Mr. Ohe. “We are pleased to be able to respond to patients needs by providing these Orlando Health Imaging Centers across Central Florida.”

In addition to the name change and new signage, the interiors of the Altamonte Springs and Orange Avenue facilities have been renovated with new contemporary furnishings situated in a fresh updated color palette. In April 2015, the Orange Avenue facility experienced extensive process and procedural improvements with equipment upgrades, the addition of several new board certified radiologists, enhanced training for technologists, and new quality assurance reviews and oversight.

All imaging services are accredited by the American College of Radiology. MCRG, one of Central Florida’s largest and most well respected radiology groups, oversees quality standards at all facilities.
