Why:

Trauma: A serious injury or shock to the body, caused by a physical force, such as violence or an accident.

Orlando Regional Medical Center’s (ORMC) trauma surgeons were among the first to learn of the mass shooting at PULSE nightclub the morning of Sunday, June 12 and the first to respond. Eight surgeons will share their experiences from that morning and the hours that followed. Two patients, whose lives were saved as a result of the surgeons’ efforts, will tell their harrowing stories from that horrific night.

ORMC is home to the area’s only Level One Trauma Center for adults (16 beds) and pediatrics (4 beds) providing the highest level of care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With a wide range of specialists and equipment, the care provided by a Level One Trauma Center saves lives that might otherwise be lost.
