Dr. Jean Odom joined Physician Associates in July of 2009. Dr. Odom wanted to be a physician as far back as the second grade. She grew up in Mississippi, went to college, and spent 15 years as a registered nurse before finally realizing her original dream. During residency, Dr. Odom was named Resident of the year by the Orlando Health/Winnie Palmer Hospital and served as chief OB/GYN resident. She was the first resident to be named a Physician Exemplar as well as the first to have completed the robotic surgery requirements for the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System.

Dr. Odom is a strong advocate for minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Odom's experience as a nurse prior to becoming a physician gives her a unique perspective on patient care. Dr. Odom practices by the tenet that each patient should be treated the way she would want her mother or sister to be treated. When she has free time, she has become an avid cyclist, scuba dives, and serves on the Board of Advisors for the Orlando Victim Services Center. Having grown up during the Apollo Space program, she loves being able to watch Shuttle launches from the Cape.
