Request an Appointment with an Orlando Health Physician
Our cardiologists are skilled in the latest minimally invasive procedures for treating cardiovascular diseases. Depending on your condition, we may use balloon valvuloplasty to widen your narrow heart valve and improve blood flow from your heart.
We may recommend a variety of cardiac imaging tests to assess your valvular heart disease and determine whether you are a candidate for valvuloplasty. We will insert a catheter, or thin tube, through an artery and into your heart. A small balloon at the end of the catheter will inflate when the catheter reaches the affected heart valve, pressing against hardened tissue and forcing the narrow valve to widen.
