Femoroacetabular impingement is a condition in which the hip bones are abnormally shaped. There is no way to prevent femoroacetabular impingement, but we will diagnose your condition and develop a plan to ease the pinching and compression that is causing your hip pain.
We may order X-rays, specialized MRI and CT scans, and a hip injection to assess the condition of your hip socket. We may recommend rest, medication and physical therapy to ease your pain and speed your rehabilitation. In some cases, arthroscopic surgery may be the best option to repair your cartilage, tears and other damage. Our goal is to relieve your pain and prevent arthritis or other damage to your hip.
