Sports and other physical activities are important to your child’s development, but they may occasionally result in minor injuries. Scrapes and sprains are a fact of life for most children.

You should bring your child for examination and possible treatment by our pediatrics staff for skin injuries involving heavy bleeding that does not stop after five minutes of direct pressure, for wounds longer than a half inch, or for wounds that gape or have ragged edges. Also call us if your child is injured on the face or head, is cut by dirty or rusty objects, or is bitten by an animal or person.
