Request an Appointment with a Pediatric Specialist
We perform an upper endoscopy to evaluate symptoms, to perform a biopsy or to treat a diagnosed condition. It is more accurate than X-rays for detecting inflammation, ulcers and cancerous and benign tumors.
Our experienced doctors will slide a long, flexible tube with a small camera attachment down the throat to view the esophagus, stomach and upper small intestine. Your child must have an empty stomach to undergo this procedure. He or she may receive a sedative or an anesthetic to numb the throat, and may have a sore throat for a day or two afterward.
