Our treatment approach will depend on which toe is fractured and the severity of the injury. Our goal will be to return the bone to its normal alignment and to restore function and mobility in your foot.
If you suffered a simple fracture, our orthopedists and sports medicine specialists may immobilize the toe by taping it a neighboring toe or recommending that you wear a surgical shoe with a firm bottom. We also may use a cast. Severe breaks — when your bones cannot be aligned without breaking the skin or when the big toe is involved — may require orthopedic surgery to reset your bone.
