Behavioral Health Therapy

South Seminole Hospital is home to Orlando Health Behavioral Healthcare, an 80-bed psychiatric hospital. We offer comprehensive services for people suffering from mental and addictive disorders. A full range of psychiatric disorders are treated from depression and bipolar disorder to schizophrenia as well as addictive behaviors stemming from drug and alcohol use.

The facility has three adult units, a child/adolescent unit, and a unit for adults requiring an intensive level of care. Programs on the units include group, individual, and expressive therapies. Each patient receives individual care plans tailored to their individual needs. Admissions to the hospital are accepted through direct admission from an on-staff psychiatrist or through psychiatric triage in the Orlando Health Emergency Departments.

Care is provided by RNs, LPNs, mental health technicians, psychosocial service clinicians, physicians, expressive therapists, dietitians, and chaplains who specialize in caring for Behavioral Health patients. Services provided are family oriented and also include discharge plan to assist patient's transition to outside resources.
