South Seminole Hospital Adds Digital Mammography
South Seminole Hospital has added digital mammography services, to provide patients with optimal breast imaging and comfort with lower x-ray dosage. South Seminole Hospital, has installed a MAMMOMAT Novation DR digital mammography system from Siemens Medical Solutions at our new Women’s Imaging Center.
Same day screening mammograms and extended hours are available, The new Women’s Imaging Center is located next door to South Seminole Hospital and offers easy access and convenient parking.
While breast self- examination is one of the most important tools for early detection, regularly scheduled mammograms are not only highly recommended but can often detect a lesion long before it can be felt. With this innovative system, screening, diagnosis and biopsy all can be performed on a single unit, while maintaining image quality and reducing dose exposure.
Our new mammography system will help South Seminole Hospital provide women with the best possible exams while reduce the discomfort often associated with mammography.
The detector allows imaging of a wider range of patient breast sizes, and its new paddle design provides easier and more comfortable patient positioning. The system enables a direct conversion of X-ray to digital information which is sent to a multi-modality workstation with the ability to accept CAD assistance which helps increase cancer detection rates.
