Brigit is a Board-Certified Nurse Executive with extensive operational experience in acute care that includes Women’s Health, Surgical Services, and Critical Care.  She is known as a caring and compassionate leader who uses relationships and collaboration with frontline staff and physicians to execute innovative and sustainable change and to grow highly engaged teams. She has a passion for Leadership Development and has most recently been working on the Orlando Health Corporate Nursing team with a focus on coaching and mentoring nurse leaders.

Prior to joining Orlando Health, Brigit served in multiple leadership roles at Advent Health including Director of Nursing. In this role she acted as the operational leader and a strategic partner in the planning, building, and opening of a new Women’s Hospital.

Brigit received her Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis in Healthcare Systems Management/ Nursing Leadership from Loyola University New Orleans, her BSN from Advent University, and her diploma in Nursing from Jackson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She is a proponent of nursing certification and previously held Clinical Nurse Certifications in Post Anesthesia Nursing (CPAN) and Ambulatory Care Nursing (CAPA).

Brigit comes from a family of four nurses. Her mother, Lou Hazlett, retired from ORMC Surgical Services in 2002. She is married to Alfredo, who works at ORMC in Surgical Services. They have two grown children, Alfredo and Alexandria, and three grandchildren. She is an avid reader and loves to travel.
