Our Plans for Brookwood Baptist Health
I’m excited about the opportunities we have to make Brookwood Baptist Health the best healthcare system in Alabama and working with you to accomplish this.
Since we’re just getting to know each other, I wanted to quickly tell you a bit about myself and Orlando Health. I joined the organization in 2016 as president of Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, which is near Orlando’s theme parks. Since then, my role has grown to include oversight of 2 hospitals, 4 ERs and 4 medical pavilions.
I’ve lived in lots of other places — the college towns of Gainesville, Florida, and Richmond, Virginia; and Denver, Colorado. Now, I’m looking forward to coming to Birmingham and leading our efforts here.
Over the past eight years, growth has been a constant at Orlando Health. And we have done it in a very intentional way based on six principles that we call our strategic imperatives. These help focus the organization on the things that matter most to us.
In Central Alabama, we’ll use that framework to:
- Become a great place to work by empowering team members and providing market competitive wages and benefits.
- Engage physicians as our partners and listen to their views.
- Ensure teams have the tools and resources they need to provide an outstanding experience for every patient, every time.
- Focus on quality and safety — for our patients and our team.
- Honor the Baptist Health legacy of faith-based care and develop meaningful relationships in the communities we serve.
I believe there is something truly special about this region and this moment. And I look forward to this new day in healthcare for Brookwood Baptist Health and Central Alabama!
Thank you!
