New Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg, FL (February 15, 2021) – Bayfront Health St. Petersburg’s President, John Moore recently announced the hospital has confirmed Trina Espinola, MD, FACS as Chief Medical Officer, and Lorraine Parker, RN, MSN, CENP as Chief Nursing Officer and Assistant Vice President at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. Both women were serving in those roles in an interim capacity prior to the announcement.

In Lorraine’s role as Interim Chief Nursing Officer, she worked to enhance the culture of providing quality patient care that is evident at Bayfront Health St Petersburg. 

Over the last 29 years, after starting her career as a nursing assistant, she has served in a variety of leadership roles, many of those at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies in Orlando. 

Lorraine earned her Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of Central Florida and her Master of Nursing degree from Chamberlain College of Nursing.  She also holds a national certification in Executive Nursing Practice. 

Lorraine and her husband are proud parents of three sons and a daughter (and their dog Bailey) and are huge fans of the Tampa Bay Rays and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Trina Espinola, MD, FACS who was also serving in an interim role has now been fully promoted to Chief Medical Officer for Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

Dr. Espinola has a long history of service to the community and to the hospital.  Dr. Espinola is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. 

She is a graduate of Tulane University where she earned a Bachelor of Biochemistry, along with her medical degree.  Dr. Espinola completed her surgical internship at Charity Hospital, New Orleans, her surgical residency at Tulane University Department of Surgery and her otolaryngology residency at Tulane University Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, New Orleans.

Dr. Espinola has spent her career promoting good health and quality care by serving numerous committee appointments including on the Florida Board of Medicine, as well as through participation in the education and training of medical students and residents. She served two terms as Chief of Staff and two terms as Chief of Surgery during her many years of leadership at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
