A Timely Lung Cancer Screening Could Save Your Life.
A low-dose CT scan is the only lung cancer screening tool that significantly lowers your risk of developing advanced lung cancer. Symptoms usually don't appear until the disease is at an advanced stage. A lung cancer screening is painless and takes about 30 minutes.

Should You Be Screened?
You should be screened for lung cancer if you meet ALL these conditions:
-
You are between 50-80 years of age.
-
You have a 20 pack-year history of smoking (this means 1 pack a day for 20 years, 2 packs a day for 10 years, etc.). If your smoking history is less than this, you may still be eligible for screening.
-
You are a current smoker or have quit within the past 15 years
If you have a family history of lung cancer or may have been exposed to cancer-causing elements, such as asbestos or radon gas, talk with your doctor about whether you need regular screenings.
