The Wound Healing Center is a state-of-the-art outpatient facility, staffed by a multidisciplinary and experienced team of physicians, nurses, therapists and technologists, specializing in treating and healing all open wounds.

The Wound Healing Center is overseen by Medical Director, Dr. Walter Conlan MD, CWSP. Dr. Conlan has over 15 years of wound care experience and has the only full-time wound care practice in Central Florida. Dr. Conlan serves as the President for the American Board of Wound Management.

Patients will receive a comprehensive assessment and customized treatment program of their wound. This customized plan of care leads to improved disease management, enhanced patient satisfaction, and reduced inpatient admissions and visits to the emergency department.

Wounds Treated

  • Trauma
  • Cancer
  • Pressure Ulcers
  • Arterial/Ischemic Wounds
  • Venous Insufficiency Wounds
  • Surgical Wounds
  • Radiation Dermatitis/Irradiated Skin Damage
  • Minor Burns
  • Diabetic/Neuropathic Ulcers
  • Wounds Requiring Lymphaedema Therapy

Services at The Wound Center

Services include hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO), a safe and effective method used to treat wounds that may not respond well to other therapies alone. HBO delivers 100% oxygen under pressure to the cells. During HBO therapy, patients breathe pure oxygen while in a hyperbaric chamber. Our HBO area is designed to be open and inviting, lessening the feeling of claustrophobia during HBO treatments.

We also offer a full-time ostomy clinic, which includes pre-operative stoma site making and education, post operative education and guidance on stoma and fistula management, and routine assessment of stoma and peri-stomal skin health. Our board certified ostomy nurse is qualified to problem solve all issues relating to ostomies, pouching systems and tubes.
