Certain heart conditions — including heart attack — have different symptoms in women than in men. In addition, certain periods of transition during a woman’s life — such as pregnancy or menopause — can dramatically affect heart health. For these reasons, it’s important that a woman is cared for by a cardiologist experienced in the unique needs of women.

The Heart & Vascular Program at the Orlando Health Women’s Pavilion – Winter Park provides specialized, comprehensive women’s heart care in a welcoming, state-of-the-art facility. Our team uses the latest research-backed tests and treatments for heart conditions in women.

The Orlando Health Women’s Pavilion is designed to fit the needs of busy women who are juggling many responsibilities and who recognize the need to prioritize their own health and well-being. At our easily and safely accessible location, you can see all specialty providers you need, get your lab work taken care of and have imaging tests done all in one day.

Specialized Heart & Vascular Care, Just for Women

Our cardiologists are experienced in caring for women’s hearts and provide specialized testing and treatments for women with heart and vascular issues. We provide care for all women, age 18 and up, who are concerned about their heart health.

If you have a family history of heart disease, seeing our team for a preventive consultation is a proactive step toward your optimal lifelong health. During this visit, we will gather your family and personal health histories, complete testing that is appropriate for your situation and discuss your best path forward.

Program Offerings

Our Heart & Vascular team offers care for women with health conditions, as well as those who are at-risk for developing a heart condition in the future based on family or personal risk factors. We care for women who have:

• A new heart symptom during pregnancy
• An underlying heart condition during pregnancy
• Arrhythmia
• Cancer and are currently undergoing treatment that may present cardiac risk
• Cardiovascular disease
• Carotid disease
• Congenital (present at birth) heart disease
• Coronary artery disease
• Coronary hypertension
• Valvular heart disease

The cardiac services we provide include:

• Ablation surgery
• Coumadin (Warfarin) clinic
• Echocardiogram
• Electrocardiography (EKG)
• Holter monitoring
• Preventive consultation, testing and risk assessment
• Stress test
• Vascular surgery

If you require complex surgery – such as a bypass, aortic replacement, mitral valve replacement or congenital heart defect repair – our team will refer you to an Orlando Health interventional cardiologist for further consultation and surgery at an Orlando Health hospital.
