When will I become an Orlando Health team member?
Employees with Melbourne Regional Medical Center, Rockledge Regional Medical Center, Sebastian River Medical Center and their affiliated medical practices will become Orlando Health team members after the transaction with Steward Health Care closes, which is expected to be on October 24, 2024. We value the expertise and dedication of all current team members and are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible.
Will my job, title or manager change?
After closing, Steward Health Care team members will join Orlando Health at the same title and base pay. As we integrate Steward Health Care into the Orlando Health system, we are working to best align jobs, titles and structures to support our continued success. Our goal is to maintain a strong, skilled workforce to continue providing excellent care to our patients and community. As we develop plans, Orlando Health’s HR and communication teams will keep you updated every step of the way.
Will my service date at Steward Health Care carry over?
Yes. Your service date at Steward Health Care will be recognized at Orlando Health. Your continuous service time with Steward Health Care will be applied to your years of service for paid time off purposes and your retirement plan match and vesting.
What benefit changes should I expect?
Orlando Health takes great pride in caring for and about our team members and offers benefit programs that go beyond the expected. Eligible team members will be offered a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits comparable to or exceeding current coverage. Additional information will be shared soon.
Do I need to enroll in Orlando Health benefits?
Yes. All team members must enroll in their selected benefits plans with Orlando Health. Enrollment for eligible team members will begin on October 24, 2024. The benefits you enroll in for the 2024 calendar year will end on December 31, 2024. Benefits for 2025 will start on January 1, 2025.
- Benefits 2024 enrollment ends November 2, 2024. (Eligible team members must complete 2024 enrollment before making benefit selections for 2025.)
- Benefits 2025 enrollment ends November 7, 2024.
When do my new benefits start?
Benefits at Orlando Health will start on day one of employment, which is expected to take place on October 24, 2024, so there is no waiting period for coverage. Your Benefits with Steward Health Care will automatically end the day the transaction closes between Orlando Health and Steward Health Care.
How do I apply for FMLA/Leave of Absence?
Eligible team members will be able to apply for FMLA with Orlando Health starting day one of employment. You will apply for leave through New York Life by calling (866) 337-1593 or online at mynylgbs.com. Specific instructions on how to file a new request will be shared in the weeks ahead.
For team members currently on leave, after hire, Orlando Health’s benefits department will be in touch to discuss the coordination of your leave. If you have any questions, please contact the Orlando Health Leave Department at [email protected].
Will I keep my current paid time off hours earned?
Yes. Accrued, unused time off balances will transfer from Steward Health Care to Orlando Health.
Will my 401(k) roll over to Orlando Health’s retirement savings plan?
Once your retirement account is inactive at Steward Health Care, you will have the option to maintain your current balance with Steward Health Care or roll your 401(k) balance over to your new Orlando Health 403(b) account as eligible. If your balance is less than $1,000, you will be sent instructions to cash out the balance. Orlando Health’s retirement savings plan is managed by Fidelity. Eligible team members will have the opportunity to initiate a rollover request by contacting Fidelity after they transition to Orlando Health. Stay tuned for more information.
When will I receive my last paycheck from Steward Health and my first paycheck from Orlando Health?

Will I get a new email address?
Yes, you will receive an Orlando Health user ID and email address. Additional details about the email migration process will be sent to your work email.
When will new brand names and logos start to be used?
New brand names and logos will start to appear in advertising on October 24, 2024, along with changes to signage and branding on facility entry doors. In addition, Orlando Health branded Word and PowerPoint templates will be available to all team members. You can learn more about these products and other important brand resources in an upcoming Brand Transition Session, and in the Brand Transition Guide, to be distributed.
Can I still wear apparel with the old brand names and logos? Will my scrub color change?
If you wear a lab coat or uniform with the former brand names and logos, you may continue to do so until directed otherwise. Any branded apparel that may have been personally purchased, should no longer be worn to work. Stay tuned for more information on scrubs.
How can I learn more about the new brand and how these changes will affect my department?
The Orlando Health Brand Management team will host virtual Brand Transition Sessions for day and night-shift team members. These sessions will be packed with information about the new brand names and logos, as well as the look and feel of branded products and more! Session dates and times will be communicated closer to the scheduled dates.
Is there anything I can do to help prepare for the brand changes?
Yes, every team member is integral to a successful brand transition. Here are a few things you and your colleagues can do now to help:
- Take a look around your area/department for products that use the current logo and remove/discard any items that may be outdated.
- Distribute inventory of any branded promotional products.
- Plan to attend a Brand Transition Session to learn more about how you can support the brand changes.
