Lara Wolfenden, APRN, DNP

Critical Care APP Fellow

Lara was born in Bethesda, Maryland, raised in a multi-cultural home with both American and Vietnamese heritage. Lara is a double alumna of UCF, earning her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nursing Practice with honors as a member of Sigma Theta Tau in 2021. Her career experience has included working as a registered nurse and clinical research coordinator at Orlando Health ORMC for 8 years in critical care. As a life-long learner, Lara loves the new opportunities and challenges that being in the critical care field provide. The ability to participate in complex hands-on procedures, ongoing team collaborations, and provision of compassionate care within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, all contribute to the passion and desire to maintain a path in critical care. Her future plans include working as a critical care APP while pursuing opportunities to conduct research projects and returning to academia to help mentor and support future nurses in the field of critical care.
