Sushma Koneru, MD, FACC, is a board-certified noninvasive cardiologist and heart failure specialist in practice with the Orlando Health Heart Institute Cardiology Group.
Dr. Koneru earned her medical degree from Rangaraya Medical College in Kakinada, India. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Southern Illinois University, Springfield, where she was appointed chief resident. She completed fellowship training in adult cardiovascular diseases at Creighton University, Omaha. She also completed a fellowship in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at University of Rochester, New York.
Previously Dr. Koneru was a non-invasive cardiologist and heart failure specialist at UnityPoint Clinic – Methodist Plaza, Des Moines. She was also a clinical instructor at Southern Illinois University Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Koneru has published manuscripts and abstracts in numerous professional publications including Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, The American Journal of Medicine and Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
Dr. Koneru is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a member of the American Heart Association, the American Society of Echocardiogram and the Heart Failure Society of America.
