Why ORMC: Within days of my away rotation here, ORMC felt like home and I knew this was where I wanted to spend the next 3 years. There is a warmth about this place, and I don’t just mean the temperature! Everyone is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the nurses, residents, and attendings genuinely care for each other. A hurricane came through during my away rotation, and I was impressed by the way the attendings and residents supported each other. Those who lived close to the hospital offered to cover shifts for people who lived further out in order to keep everyone safe. These people have servants’ hearts, and they are incredibly capable to boot! I knew I would get the best training possible here at Orlando Health, and that the diverse patient population would prepare me for any setting I choose to practice in. The fact that my dream residency was in beautiful, sunshine-y Orlando and close to so many beaches made the decision that much easier for me. This residency is truly special, and I am grateful to be a part of this big family that looks out for each other, loves each other, and learns from each other every day. These people keep me constantly laughing and smiling every day that I show up to work—I couldn’t ask for anything more in a residency family!
