Why ORMC: It sounds sort of cliche to say that choosing a residency comes down to "feel," but that really is the case. From the residency dinner and throughout Interview Day, I just kept experiencing a sort of "calm" that let me know that I was in the right place. At the applicant dinner I saw how excited all of the residents were to be there and how it really felt like sitting in on a family reunion. One of the residents was even kind enough to drop myself and two other applicants back off at our hotel rooms so that we could save money on Ubers. When I left, I knew that "La Familia" wasn't just some catchy slogan...it's really the heart of this program and I wanted to be a part of that. No other place was able to replicate that feeling. Also, warmth (temperature) is a HUGE part of my wellness and I don't think I could have picked a better place in that department either.
