Future career goals: Plan to stay and do a chief year after residency and I am interested in intensive care/emergency medicine in the future.
Favorite thing about the program: My fellow residents who are a second family to me.

Elizabeth Coughlin

Hobbies: Hobbies include running, hanging out with friends, family and my dog. 
Career Goals: Interested in NICU fellowship following completion of pediatric residency. 
Favorite thing about the program: Our program has a great variety of patients with interesting cases presenting very frequently.  They encourage our independence while understanding we are still learning and, of course, my co-residents!

Favorite thing about the program: Our patient population is large and varied enough that you see a lot of bread and butter, but also very specialized care.

Favorite thing about the program:  The residents treat each other like family!

Shannon T. Hicks
Hometown: Roanoke Rapids, NC
Medical School: Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University
Hobbies:  I enjoy singing and cooking.  I find both stress relieving and have tried to remain involved in different choirs and singing groups at the churches I attend. 
Future Career Goal: I am interested in Public Health, especially in areas of Global Health.  I'm interested in General Pediatrics and would like to travel abroad to South America and Africa in particular to do work. 
What attracted me to the program: I had really great interactions with the staff and residents on my interview.  It felt like a great fit and I knew it would be a great place to learn and interact with people from all over the world given the location in Orlando.

Adam Knecht

Hobbies: Golf, cook, go to the beach and taking my dogs to the park. 
Future career goals: I plan on practicing outpatient pediatrics once I graduate. 
Favorite thing about the program: I liked that it was a medium sized pediatric residency and you get to make many friends over your time here, but it still feels like a family.

Hobbies: Acapella and painting. I was even in an Acapella group called Residual Volume in medical school. Future Career Goals: Pursuing a career in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. 
Favorite thing about the program: I wanted to be a part of a program where the hospital had a high census and I would see several different pathologies. I really like my co-residents and the faculty that facilitate our learning.

My Favorite thing about the program: I wanted to come to Orlando because of the variety I knew I'd see. I knew no matter where I ended up practicing in the South I would have seen a case in Orlando. I've already seen diseases I may never see again. I also want to do some global health/international medicine and what better place to get exposed to that than the most visited city in the US.
