Alyse Gonzalez BSN RN-BC

Alyse Gonzalez, BSN, RN-BC, was appointed the Hospital Nursing Practice Council Chair for Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital in July of 2016. In this role, she leads monthly meetings, facilitates collaboration between the different units and departments at South Seminole, is a resource for the unit nursing practice council chairs, and promotes the improvement of quality care through performance improvement projects. 

Ms. Gonzalez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Remington College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Women’s Studies from the University of Florida. Board certified in medical/surgical nursing through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Ms. Gonzalez collaborates with other colleagues to improve the outcomes of patients. As a preceptor, the primary charge nurse on the Surgical Services unit and a member of the South Seminole throughput committee, Ms. Gonzalez works closely with the physical therapy department to enrich the total joint replacement program. 

In 2015 and 2016, Ms. Gonzalez presented posters at the Orlando Health Quality Retreat. “Go Before You Go” was the title of the 2015 poster and “Minimizing Post-op Antiemetic Use through Self-select Diet” was the title of the 2016 poster. 

“Nursing has always been a dream of mine. My passion is helping others and making a difference. The appointment as the hospital nursing practice council chair has been an honor and a blessing. I have learned leadership skills and I have been empowered to know that I can make a difference. Through this role, I hope to inspire my peers, and everyone I come in contact with; because you can do anything you put your mind to, and your voice can drive a change and make a difference.”
