Lisa Almodovar RN CLC IBCLC

In January of 2017, Lisa Almodovar, RN, CLC, IBCLC, was appointed as the Hospital Nursing Practice Council Chair for South Lake Hospital, in affiliation with Orlando Health. In this role, she is responsible for leading council activities, engaging nurses in decision-making at the unit and hospital nursing practice councils, and serving as a mentor and resource to other practice council chairs. In addition to her chair responsibilities, Mrs. Almodovar is Chair-elect of South Lake Hospital’s Obstetrical Nursing Practice Council, Breastfeeding Committee, Newborn Nursing Practice Council, and Patient Experience Committee.

Mrs. Almodovar is a registered nurse on the obstetrical unit at South Lake Hospital, a graduate of Valencia College with an Associate of Science degree in Nursing, and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Western Governors University. She is a Board Certified Lactation Consultant through the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) and is a Certified Lactation Counselor by the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice.

Mrs. Almodovar is very involved in her community and regularly participates in organizations supported by her church.  She is a member of the Nurses Christian Fellowship. She served ten years as the circuit coordinator for the Central African Medical Mission, which was her inspiration to become a nurse. In 2015, Edgewater High School honored her as the Volunteer of the Month for her work in the drama department.
