A Home for All to Share
Designed and built as a "home-away-from-home" for families of patients from outside the Orlando area, the Hubbard House can help restore a sense of calm during troubled times of illness or injury. The heart-warming stories that have emerged from the evolution of the Hubbard House are as big and comforting as the house itself. Since opening in January 1994, the Hubbard House has served thousands of families facing the extra burden of finding convenient and affordable temporary lodging in times of crisis. Take a look and you'll see why the Hubbard House is "home" to so many warm memories...
"I want to thank you for the warmth you brought me when I most needed it. It is beautiful to meet so many people who truly care for others." - Rita
"Our experience at the Hubbard House made caring for our baby possible. You not only provided a safe place for us to stay, your staff provided an endless amount of support and love during this very difficult time." - Jon & Abby
Comfort and Convenience
When a loved one is ill, the last thing you need to worry about is finding a place to stay. Throughout the years, many individuals have been forced to stay in waiting rooms and hospital lounges when a family member required an extended hospital stay. Now, thanks to the many generous individuals and businesses who funded the project, the spacious, Victorian-style Hubbard House is available right on Orlando Health's main campus. The home offers many amenities to its guests, including:
- 16 rooms with two double beds and full baths
- Five efficiency suites with full baths
- Communal kitchen with dishes and cookware
- Communal dining room
- 21,000 square feet of living space
- Laundry facilities
- Age-specific playrooms for children
- Television room and game area
- Exercise room
- Manager who resides in the house
- Easy access to Orlando Health facilities - most within walking distance
- Convenient restaurants and shopping areas
- Adjacent parking
- Peaceful Victorian garden retreat
- 24-hour security
Referrals to the Hubbard House are based on the severity of the patient's condition and on the traveling distance of family members. Although Orlando Health physicians and designated staff members can refer a family to the Hubbard House, the manager will make the final determination. Most guest rooms and suites can accommodate up to five family members.
A per-night donation helps us cover operating costs and ensures that this worthwhile service will always be available to families in need. However, any contribution is welcomed to help continue our effort.
"We were so far away from home, but everybody we came in contact with at the Hubbard House became brother and sister. The spirit of your home spreads its wings all over the world." - Themba, South Africa
A Gift from the Heart
Absolutely everything involved in the construction of the Hubbard House was funded by donations from employees, local businesses and community members. Our dedicated staff alone contributed more than $250,000 toward construction of this much-needed facility. Additional donations provide for the home's day-to-day operation. Truly, the Hubbard House is a gift from the hearts of many.
A gift to Hubbard House will help make an incredible difference in the lives of others. Almost always at 100 per cent occupancy, Hubbard House is able to remain in operation through the generosity of tax-deductible donations. While guests do pay a "nominal" donation to stay at Hubbard House, donations play a vital role in funding the daily expenses of this "home away from home". This is why your financial support is so important. Each tax deductible gift to Hubbard House counts-no matter the size.
Your generous gift to Hubbard House touches people's lives in so many meaningful ways.

About the Hubbard Family
When Francis Evans Hubbard moved to Orlando in 1925, Orange General Hospital (now Orlando Health) was the only community hospital in the area. Realizing the critical need for adequate medical care, Mr.Hubbard immediately became involved. Since that time, the family has collectively given more than 90 years of their time to support our organization. It was in appreciation of these years of service that we dedicated our new "home" to this special family.Directions
