Bio
Ashil J. Gosalia, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist with the Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute. He specializes in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, providing treatment for diseases and conditions related to the gastrointestinal (GI) tract and abdomen. Some of these include inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), pancreatic disorders, liver diseases, and other gastrointestinal disorders.
Diagnosis and Treatment of Gastrointestinal Disorders
Disorders of the gastrointestinal tract vary, and Dr. Gosalia’s experience enables him to diagnosis and treat patients to promote relief and healing. A few of the procedures he performs are:
- Upper endoscopy
- Capsule endoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Endoscopic mucosal resection
- Esophageal dilation
- Sigmoidoscopy
Dr. Gosalia’s Training
After graduating magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in political science from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, Dr. Gosalia earned his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester. He returned to Providence to complete his residency in internal medicine at Brown University and its affiliates, Rhode Island Hospital and Miriam Hospital. He concluded his postdoctoral training with a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, serving as chief fellow during his final year. He has assisted with several research studies, published his work in multiple peer-reviewed journals, and is fluent in both English and Gujarati.
