Heather Elkins is a certified physician assistant (PA-C) who has cared for patients with cardiovascular disease at the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute since 2011. Her specialties include:
- General cardiology
- Interventional cardiology
- Electrophysiology
- Heart failure
She believes in treating patients like family and working as a team to get the best results.
Heather’s Training
Heather earned her bachelor’s degree in biology sciences from Florida State University in Tallahassee and her master’s in physician assistant studies (MPAS) at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
About Heather
In addition to providing direct patient care, Heather educates and onboards advanced practice providers at the Heart and Vascular Institute. She created Orlando Health’s first APP training program in 2015 and has more than eight years of experience lecturing and creating educational content and simulation experiences for advanced practice providers.
She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and her professional memberships include the Florida Association of Physician Assistants.
Outside of work, Heather enjoys interior design, playing soccer, watching FSU football, and spending time with her husband and two sons.
