Dr. Joe Franklin is a board-certified and fellowship-trained interventional radiologist at Orlando Health Medical Group Radiology. He has practiced in Central Florida for more than 25 years.
Dr. Franklin cares for patients by using diagnostic imaging to guide minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat conditions that once required open surgery. His experience includes:
- Computed tomography (CT)
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
He specializes in angiography, which is the study of the blood vessels. An angiogram is a type of interventional radiology procedure that uses X-ray technology to guide a small tube called a catheter through the patient's major arteries.
Dr. Franklin’s Training
Dr. Franklin earned his medical degree and his bachelor’s in chemistry at Emory University in Atlanta. He completed a residency in radiology at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. His fellowship in interventional radiology and angiography was performed at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.

Dr. Franklin is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and American Board of Urology. He is a member of the American Roentgen Ray Society, Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, Florida Medical Association and Orange County Medical Society.
Outside of work, Dr. Franklin enjoys spending time with his family.
