Bio
Dr. John Sullivan is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, specializing in minimally invasive hip, knee and shoulder replacement and joint preservation surgery. His expertise also includes:
- Joint replacement surgery
- Revision joint replacement surgery
- Robotic joint replacement
- Fracture surgery
- Arthroscopic rotator cuff, knee and hip repair
- Cortisone and gel injections
- Platelet-rich plasma injections
- Ultrasound-guided injections
Dr. Sullivan practices cutting-edge technologies and enjoys complex cases. He discusses both conservative and operative treatments with his patients.
Dr. Sullivan’s Training
Dr. Sullivan earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, graduating with honors, and received his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School in Newark. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at State University of New York – Downstate in Brooklyn and his fellowship in orthopedic adult reconstruction at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. His professional memberships include the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and Irish-American Orthopaedic Society.
Dr. Sullivan is an Eagle Scout, ran track and cross country at Holy Cross and served as an emergency medical technician for 10 years.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, golf, kayaking, paddleboarding, skiing, pickleball and bridge.
