Board-certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Billings specializes in shoulder and hip arthroscopy, sports medicine and joint reconstruction of the knee and shoulder.
Growing up, he wanted to follow in the footsteps of his father, who also is a physician. “I knew I was going into medicine, but as soon as I started to watch and be exposed to orthopedics, it was just a no-brainer. I was going into orthopedics,? he says.
Dr. Billings began his post-secondary education at Temple University (Philadelphia), where he played basketball. The team’s orthopedic intern invited Dr. Billings to shadow him in the emergency department, and his determination to focus on sports medicine and orthopedics was born, he says.
He went on to complete his training at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and a residency in orthopedic surgery at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center of New York (New York City). He performed a knee fellowship at Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic.
Dr. Billings is a member of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
