Bio
Katie Herrera, RN, APRN, CFM, is a board-certified nurse midwife with Orlando Health Physician Associates. Specializing in women’s reproductive health, pregnancy and childbirth, she brings nearly 15 years of nursing and midwife experience to her patients, including her work at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, where she handled emergency births, assisted with C-sections, and provided prenatal care for at-risk babies.
The Role of a Nurse Midwife
A nurse midwife like Katie plays a vital role in a woman’s life. She is specially trained to provide care and support for women through all stages of their life, including well woman exams, pregnancy, labor, delivery and post-partum care. She also provides care for mother and baby during the first few weeks following birth.
About Katie Herrera
Katie received her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Central Florida before attending the University of Cincinnati to pursue a master’s degree in nursing with a concentration in women’s health and midwifery.
She is certified by the Florida Board of Nursing and a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants. Additionally, she serves on the faculty of the Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee.

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
