A fellowship-trained physician in spine care, Dr. Silverstein focuses on minimally invasive surgery of the spine and motion-preservation surgery.
His father struggled with back issues, and that experience inspired Dr. Silverstein to become a spine surgeon. Back pain is very common, with at least 80 percent of Americans having an episode of back pain in their lifetime.
He grew up in South Florida and completed his medical training at Florida State University (Tallahassee). After completing his residency in orthopedic surgery at The Cleveland Clinic (Ohio), he performed his fellowship training in spine surgery at OrthoCarolina Spine Center (Charlotte, North Carolina).
Dr. Silverstein enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two children, exploring theme parks, traveling and being outdoors. He is involved with the Uganda Spine Surgery Mission.
