Dr. Naren Ramakrishna is a board-certified radiation oncologist with the pediatric brain tumor program at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and director of the pediatric and adult proton therapy programs at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. He cares for children as well as adults, and his specialties include:

Dr. Ramakrishna’s Training

Dr. Ramakrishna earned his medical degree through the Medical Scientist Training Program at Cornell University’s Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. He earned a doctorate in cell biology and genetics from the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Dr. Ramakrishna completed a residency in radiation oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, where he served as chief resident. He also completed a Koch Research Fellowship in gene therapy and received an American Association for Cancer Research-Glaxo Wellcome Oncology Scholar Award.

About Dr. Ramakrishna

Dr. Ramakrishna is board certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology. He served for eight years on the faculty at Harvard Medical School as an instructor in radiation oncology. He also was chief of the radiation oncology department at Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center and director of the CNS Radiation Oncology Fellowship Program.

Dr. Ramakrishna is a principal investigator in a study focused on central nervous system malignancies at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer. He has written numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed manuscripts and has presented his work at national and international conferences.

Outside of work, Dr. Ramakrishna is an avid musician and songwriter. He also enjoys kayaking, hiking, rollerblading and biking.
