Neil Patel, MD, is a board-certified interventional pain physician with the Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute. He helps patients find relief from chronic pain through minimally invasive procedures, targeted injections, and coordination of care with a multidisciplinary team of specialists.

Why See an Interventional Pain Physician?

As an interventional pain physician, Dr. Patel aids patients suffering from chronic pain so disruptive it makes it impossible or nearly impossible for them to go about daily life. The pain may be caused by a number of things such as an accident, overuse, a disease or congenital condition, or post-surgical effect. Each patient is different, as is the source of their pain and its intensity. Dr. Patel spends extensive time reviewing patient charts and previous test results as well as conducting advanced, evidence-based testing to determine the source of pain and best solution to resolve it. His main focus is spine health, such as herniated discs, pinched nerves, headaches, joint pain, and complex regional pain syndrome.

Chronic pain takes a toll on the mind and body. Depending on the patient and their situation, Dr. Patel assembles a care team to address specific needs. This specialized, patient-centered group works together, providing emotional and psychological support along with occupational therapy to ease patients back into the ability to perform daily activities and physical therapy to reinforce procedure results.
