Omar E. Beidas, MD, is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with Orlando Health Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery Institute. He specializes in body contouring after weight loss and breast surgery. He started the surgery after weight loss (SAWL) program at Orlando Health – the first of its kind in the southeast United States – with the goal of caring for the weight loss community. His other specialties include breast reconstruction following breast cancer, transgender chest (top) surgery, and breast revision surgery. He also performs general reconstructive procedures in support of a wide range of specialties, including general, cardiac, dermatologic and orthopedic surgeries.
Dr. Beidas earned his bachelor’s degree in bioscience and biotechnology from Drexel University and his medical degree from Temple University, both in Philadelphia. He completed his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Oklahoma and a fellowship in body contouring after weight loss at the University of Pittsburgh, training with world-renowned surgeons.
Dr. Beidas is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, written several chapters for medical texts, and presented his work at national meetings.
