Sean Meiner, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon with Orlando Health Neuroscience and Rehabilitation Institute Neurosurgery Group. He cares for patients with a variety of injuries and conditions including hydrocephalus, degenerative spinal diseases, spinal tumors, disc arthroplasty, and traumatic injuries to the brain and spine.
Dr. Meiner earned his medical degree from the University of Texas in Houston and his bachelor’s of science degree in biology from the University of Washington in Seattle. He completed his internship and residency in neurosurgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
Dr. Meiner then attended the United States Navy Officer Development School in Newport, Rhode Island, before serving as a staff neurosurgeon at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Virginia, and Children’s Hospital of King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia.
Dr. Meiner is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgery, and North American Spine Society.
Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Meiner served for three years as a volunteer with the United States Peace Corps in rural community health clinics in the South American town of Moengo in the Republic of Suriname. He also has participated in a medical mission to Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
