Stephen Kent Ball, MD, is a board-certified cardiacsurgeon in practice with the Orlando Health HeartInstitute Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Group.
Dr. Ball earned his medical degree at the University ofMississippi School of Medicine, Jackson. He completed hisinternship and residency in general surgery at theUniversity of Mississippi Medical Center, and his residencyin cardiothoracic surgery at Rush Presbyterian – St. Luke’sMedical Center, Chicago.
Previously, Dr. Ball was in the private practice ofcardiothoracic surgery at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville,Tennessee for 11 years. In 2007, he became an assistantprofessor in the Department of Cardiac Surgery atVanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, where hepracticed cardiac surgery until joining the Orlando HealthHeart Institute in April 2017.
Dr. Ball has published many manuscripts and abstracts innumerous professional publications including the Journalof the American College of Cardiology, The Annals ofSurgery, The Journal of Thoracic and CardiovascularSurgery and the Annals of Thoracic Surgery. He has alsopresented for the Southern Surgical Congress, theAmerican Association of Thoracic Surgery, the AmericanCollege of Cardiology, the American Heart Association
