William L. Harvey, MD, is an experienced, residency-trained family medicine physician with Orlando Health Medical Group FHV Health, where he cares for patients in the Leesburg urgent care center. He treats a variety of illnesses and injuries that are not life threatening but require timely attention. He has seen more than 300,000 patients in an outpatient setting during his career.
Urgent care centers provide medical care for patients with injuries or illnesses not severe enough for an emergency room visit but requiring care within 24 hours, typically after hours or on weekends if the patient’s primary care physician is not available. Life or limb-threatening injuries always require immediate attention, transport by emergency services, and treatment by the experienced emergency medicine physicians of Orlando Health. In these cases, 9-1-1 should be called right away.
Dr. Harvey and the team at the Orlando Health Medical Group FHV Health urgent care centers are committed to delivering attentive, thorough medical care. They also provide primary care services such as vaccinations and school and athletic physicals.

Dr. Harvey earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee (UT) in Memphis, graduating in the top ten percent of his class. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from UT’s Knoxville campus, graduating summa cum laude, and completed his residency in family medicine, serving as chief resident, at the same campus.
Dr. Harvey’s accomplishments are many. During his career he was the chief of staff for a hospital in Tennessee, a location where he ran his own solo family medicine practice in Sweetwater from 1979 to 2015. He also was the medical examiner and director of emergency medical services in Monroe County, Tennessee, and a former medical examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration and National Guard, conducting required, rigorous medical evaluations for new and existing recruits and staff.
