Bio
William DeCampli, MD, is a pediatric cardiovascular surgeon with The Heart Center at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. He is board certified in surgery, thoracic surgery and congenital cardiac surgery. He specializes in cardiothoracic surgery, complex neonatal and infant cardiac surgery.
Dr. DeCampli earned his medical degree from the University of Miami. He completed his internship and residency programs in general and cardiothoracic surgery, as well as heart and lung transplantation at Stanford University Medical School in California. At Stanford University Medical Center, he served one year as chief resident of cardiothoracic surgery and another year as chief resident of adult and pediatric cardiothoracic transplantation.
He also completed fellowships in congenital cardiac surgery at University of California – San Francisco and in peripheral vascular surgery at Stanford University Medical Center. In addition, Dr. DeCampli completed a research fellowship with the department of cardiovascular surgery at Stanford.
Dr. DeCampli has extensive expertise in complex neonatal and infant cardiac surgery, and was instrumental in the development of the minimally invasive cardiac surgery effort at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and developing techniques to protect the central nervous system during complex congenital heart surgery.
He has held medical staff and leadership positions at Jersey City Medical Center, New Jersey; Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey; Children's Hospital of New Jersey; Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia; Alta Bates Medical Center in Berkeley, California; and Children's Hospital Oakland in California.
Dr. DeCampli is currently a professor of surgery at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, as well as a graduate faculty scholar at the University of Central Florida College of Graduate Studies. He has been active in medical research for approximately 25 years, frequently presenting at conferences, and has held several editorial positions with medical journals. In 2013, he was recognized as one of "Orlando's Best Doctors" by Orlando Magazine.

Why do some Orlando Health physicians not have a patient experience rating?
The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
