    Hands On Orlando helps you help others. We work hard to help solve community problems by inspiring, educating and empowering people to make a difference through volunteer action.

    The opposite of a volunteer referral service, we identify, plan, manage and lead hands-on, community-based volunteer projects that you can join. Our calendar-based projects are free to join and open to the general public. None of our projects benefit Hands On Orlando in any way. They actually cost us money to produce.

  • Rebuilding Together Orlando

    Rebuilding Together started when a small group of people in Midland, Texas realized a growing need in their community. Their neighbors’ homes had fallen into disrepair and the homeowners could not afford to fix them. The founding members volunteered their time and skills to rehabilitate the homes of their neighbors and called it Christmas in April.

    This simple act of neighbors helping neighbors inspired others, spreading slowly at first, and then across the country.

    Rebuilding Together Orlando (RTO) was formed in 2002, and is one of more than 150 affiliates around the country assisting low-income homeowners with safe and healthy home repairs.

  • Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida

    Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is a private, nonprofit organization that collects, stores and distributes donated food to more than 550 feeding partners in six Central Florida counties: Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia. Last year, with the help of numerous donors, volunteers and a caring, committed community, the food bank distributed 50 million meals to partner programs such as food pantries, soup kitchens, women’s shelters, senior centers, day care centers and Kids Cafes.
