Novlet Mattis Headshot 2019

Ms. Mattis is being recognized for her role at Orlando Health where she has transformed the information technology operations by utilizing a people, process and technology approach. She became CIO of the health care organization that serves the southeastern part of the U.S. in 2018. One of her most recent and notable accomplishments is the deployment of a comprehensive health record (CHR) by Epic. The implementation allows nurses and physicians to collaborate across the health care system to see the entire patient story, including patients’ physician visits, medications and hospitalizations. The MyChart feature, which provides access to all of the patients’ health information, gives them or a loved one the best tool to manage the patients’ care.

“It’s a great honor to receive this recognition especially now when we have had to keep up with technology needs during these unprecedented times,” Ms. Mattis said. “This award demonstrates Orlando Health’s ongoing investment in technology to deliver on our goal to provide the highest quality of care for our patients. I have an amazing team that has helped transform the technology ecosystem into one that is data-driven, innovative and prepared for healthcare digitization in meeting the changing consumer and patient needs.”

Since inception in 1998, over 1,500 CIOs have been honored as finalists and over 350 CIO of the Year winners have received the prestigious ORBIE Award. Finalists and winners are selected by an independent peer review process, led by prior ORBIE recipients.
