Fight fire with fire. That’s how Dr. Sajeve Thomas, medical oncologist at UF Health Cancer Center Orlando Health, is treating melanoma in a select group of his patients.

He’s using viruses, like herpes, to teach the body’s immune system to recognize and fight cancer cells, and it’s working. It’s a growing field called viral therapy

Dr. Thomas was featured in a story about this novel treatment on WFTV Channel 9 yesterday afternoon.
