Fractures of the Ankle
Treatment will depend on whether your tibia, fibula, talus or all three bones are fractured and the severity of the break. Our goal will be to return your ankle to its normal alignment and restore function to your foot.
Your simple fracture may need only a splint or brace to keep your ankle immobilized. Other breaks may require surgical realignment. In severe breaks, our orthopedic surgeons may use pins, plates or screws to keep your bones in position during healing. We may recommend physical therapy during or soon after treatment to help you regain mobility.
