Overview
It is estimated that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime. While breast cancer is a serious disease, most patients can go on to live a normal life with early detection and treatment.
At the Orlando Health Cancer Institute, we understand how difficult the journey through breast cancer can be. Through our multidisciplinary approach, we leverage the best of many minds to eliminate breast cancer and minimize recurrence, while focusing on survival and quality of life. Our goal is to support you with a team of knowledgeable and caring physicians who are focused on helping you overcome this disease.
Specialty Areas
Ductal Carcinoma
Ductal carcinoma, the most common form of breast cancer, either is confined to the milk ducts (in situ) or has broken through to surrounding tissue (invasive).
Inflammatory Breast Cancer
Our oncology team can confirm whether observable changes in your breast, including redness or swelling, may indicate a rare form of breast cancer that often is detected late or misdiagnosed.
Lobular Carcinoma
Our oncology team will determine whether your breast cancer is contained and can be removed through minimally invasive surgery, or whether more extensive surgery may be required.
Male Breast Cancer
Men diagnosed with breast cancer typically have ductal carcinoma, an aggressive form that may spread quickly. Our oncologists confirm a diagnosis and make recommendations for treatment.
Recurrent Breast Cancer
If cancer returns to your breast or affects another part of your body months or years after it originally was treated, our oncology team will recommend a personalized course of action.
