Hernias occur when a portion of the abdomen’s inner wall protrudes outward. An Inguinal hernia develops when fat or a portion of an internal organ — often the small intestine — bulges through the abdomen’s lower wall.

We may recommend either open-repair surgery or minimally invasive laparoscopy surgery to repair your hernia and prevent complications. Hernia surgeries of either type take about one hour to perform and generally do not require an overnight stay in the hospital. Our team may use stitches or mesh to reinforce the abdomen wall.
